Introduction: A research study published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine, by Richard Brown, PhD, was aimed to assess the effects of grounding in the presence of electromagnetic fields (EMFs) commonly found in residential environments. Using a test-retest design, the researchers investigated the impact of grounding over a duration of 5 to 15 minutes per participant. The goal was to determine if grounding could result in harmful currents flowing through the human body.
Findings: When participants were grounded, the average reduction in AC body voltage was a significant 58-fold compared to when they were not grounded. Additionally, the AC currents generated during grounding were orders of magnitude lower than the minimum level of perception.
Conclusion: This study concludes that when grounding (earthing), normal levels of EMFs encountered in residential settings did not produce harmful currents. Grounding effectively mitigates the potential risks associated with EMFs, offering a protective mechanism against excessive voltage.
Implications: Embracing grounding as a wellness practice can provide a sense of reassurance and contribute to overall well-being. By connecting with the Earth's natural energy, individuals can experience enhanced vitality and balance in their lives.
